The San Lameer Estate, situated on the lower South Coast of Kwa-Zulu Natal, was the very first Golfing Estate developed in South Africa. San Lameer is a 90 minute drive south of Durban along the N2 highway, a 15 minute drive from the Wild Coast Sun and a "drive" away from 7 of the most sought after golf courses in South Africa. The Estate is 169 hectares of landscaped luxury, with 620 villas surrounding the trying 18 hole, professional golf course, designed by the famous Peter Matkovich. The climate of San Lameer is pleasantly sub-tropical, with cool breezes from the Indian Ocean. San Lameer is situated in a nature conservancy and is committed to preserving this wetland and beaches.
Estate Magement
The San Lameer Home Owners Association is responsible for the management of the entire San Lameer Estate.
The Villas
Villas are designed in a simple rustic, Mediterranean style. Care and effort was taken in the layout, ensuring perfect blending with the surrounding natural environment, as well as quick and easy access to all the available facilities. The walls are rustic plastered, with low-pitched terracotta roofs and deep overhanging eaves to facilitate better air-movement and protection from the sun and rain. Large wooden framed windows allow the sea breeze to flow through the interiors and ensure a maximum of natural light. Abundant use of covered and open patios together with the skilful utilization of surrounding vegetation ensures harmonious continuation of the natural landscape. Villas have sea views or overlook the golf course.
